Telecare Helps Five-Year-Old Boy Save his Mother's Life

This article talks about how our Lifeline units helped a five-year-old boy to save his mother's life after she fell downstairs and was left unconscious following a black-out.

Finley Davies was able to call for help quickly and easily using the Lifeline monitor that was only installed in the home the week before, to raise an alarm with Carmarthenshire County Council's Careline team.

Telecare helps Croydon support a further 600 people in their own homes

This article, on Local Government Chronicle Efficiency Award 2010 winner Croydon Council, shows how Croydon transformed its adult care service by putting telecare at the heart of its adult care services.

For Croydon LBC, telecare played a critical role in helping to restructure its adult care service. The new approach with personalised care packages means that fewer people rely on high-cost intensive home-based services, and instead live safely and independently in their own homes for longer.

Telecare Benefits Go Further Than Simple Alarms

A new American study has given further confirmation that telecare's benefits go beyond simply raising alerts in the event of problems.

The study, from Indiana University School of Medicine and Regenstrief Institute in Indianapolis, found that pain and depression were significantly improved in cancer patients who received telecare and home-based automated symptom monitoring.
